About me and the website:

My name is Bailey Xu, a practicing lawyer in Everbright Law Firm, Shanghai, China. I got LLB from East China Normal University (ECNU)with honours. After several years' experience in law, I started my postgraduate legal education in January, 2000. I am expected to receive my LLM degree from University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)by the end of this year.

In Sydney, I began to be interested in E-law or Cyberlaw: the law and the Internet. Internet has go tremendous development in the last 10 years. Today most of us recognise that the Internet is changing the way we live. However, the law is lagging behind the changing face of the world. A lot of areas need exploring. Internet really gives law a challenge. As a member of young generation, I like challenging, just like climbing a high mountain. Of course it is not enough only have courage in the area of law. So the first purpose of setting up this website is to facilitate my own studying. The more I study Cyberlaw the more I am interested. Creating a website can make my research easier. Another purpose of this website is to communicate and exchange information of Cyberlaw with other professionals, especially those having same interests in China. Of course I wish legal scholars abroad would give Chinese young lawyers generous comment and guidance. Meanwhile I also hope this site can give some useful information to those like to know something about Cyberlaw. Pursuant to these objectives, this website is mainly about Cyberlaw. Other interest areas include company law and intellectual property law. I got generous and enthusiastic enlightening from Associate Professor Michael A. Adams in UTS. I think stable and sustainable economic development of a country needs good company law. So we should put a lot of energies into this area in China.

In the end I wish all have fun and enjoy both the real world and the virtual world.
